DIY Charcoal Peel Off Mask

So many people are probably wondering what is the big deal with using activated charcoal on your face,
well grab your cup let me give you this tea!

First of all, activated charcoal is a staple ingredient in all pore cleansing products today, But why?
Activated charcoal is a carbon that’s been treated to increase its absorbency. Charcoal tablets for instance are usually prescribed to treat alcohol/food poisoning, for which it works by attaching to toxins in the stomach and absorbing them before they get into the blood stream.

Activated charcoal works the very same when used on your skin. The charcoal works like a magnet for dirt and oil, extracting them from your pores. Say goodbye to those black heads!

Like I mentioned in DIY At Home Facial one of my favorite face masks is the charcoal mask by Origins. However, today I’ll be sharing a DIY peel off mask that was shared with me by darling Leann (Shameless Plug: Check out her youtube channel Click here! to see her vlogs & be sure to subscribe!)

So lets talk business!

You will need:
Activated Charcoal pills (capsules or tablets) – Can be bought at any pharmacy
NON TOXIC School Glue
a drop of water or any essential oil (Optional)

fullsizerender-1Firstly, Consider using silicone/vinyl gloves unless you don’t mind looking like you work in a coal mine.
Then, Mix about 6-8 capsules/crushed tablets of charcoal with 1-2 table spoons of glue and a drop of water/oil (optional), then mix until the two ingredients are combined well .  Using an old makeup brush (my preference) or your fingers, apply a thin layer of the charcoal and glue mixture to your face avoiding your eyebrows, eye area, lips and hair line (but you knew this right?).
Do not apply in a thick layer or else it will not dry right or in the allotted time.
Let the mixture sit for 20-30 mins before proceeding to peel it off.

fullsizerender-3Say goodbye to those blackheads & hello to smooth and glowing skin,
Tell ’em Curl n’ Curves Taught ya!

Bye now xoxo
